Rublev

This evening's Informal Church at Bloomsbury included the opportunity to reflect on Rublev's Trinity, and also on Rowan Williams' wonderful poem, 'Rublev'. We then invited people to write a poem or draw their response.

Here's mine:

We gathered around the oak:
no leaves; no life;
summer gone;
winter come.
We shared
bread from a harvest long past,
and wine from vines now barren.
Remnants of joy.
Yet there on the dead oak
the tiny buds of hope
gave promise.
And we laughed.
