666 - Definition by Adrian Plass

From the wonderful and hilarious "A-Z of the Christian Life" by Adrian Plass:

666: The mark of the beast. Not a bad mark if it's out of a thousand. About the equivalent of a 'C' pass at GCSE. Good try, beast - could do better.

I'm working my way through 'Bacon Sandwiches and Salvation' too at the moment. One of my favourites is just across the page fromt he above:

"Shakers: members of an American religious sect who, one assumes from their title, not only wanted to be salt in the world, but also found a way of distributing it."
